Lend a gram. Get a gram back.

Benevolent lending between people, measured in gold and silver — not money. Not a gram more, not a gram less.
The problem
When a friend needs help, you lend. When they repay a year later, it no longer holds the same value. You lost without meaning to, and they repaid without wronging you. A benevolent loan should burden neither side.
What this is
- 1.000 g
The loan is a weight, not a value
- 1.000 g
The lender receives exactly what was lent
- 1.000 g
The metal is stored and allocated by name
How it works
- 01
Both sides agree on the weight and the term
The loan is written in grams — say ten grams of 21K gold — not in pounds. Weight and term are fixed in the agreement.
- 02
Mu3een buys the metal on the lender’s behalf
Acting as agent, at the market price at the moment the instruction is given — never after the fact.
- 03
The metal is allocated to a named box
Specific bars, identified by serial number, physically separated from all others.
- 04
The borrower collects it or sells it
Collection within twenty-four hours at no charge, or immediate sale if liquidity is what’s needed.
- 05
The borrower returns the same weight
Ten grams left, ten grams return. Not a gram more, not a gram less, whatever the price has done.
- 06
The lender receives their metal
Taken as metal, or sold on request — the method is chosen when the loan is created and binds both sides.
Why grams?
Currency changes over time. A gram does not. When a loan is measured by weight, the lender receives precisely what was lent — no increase that would be riba, no shortfall that would be unfair.

Allocated, not pooled
Every loan corresponds to specific metal, with its own serial and weight, held under its owner’s name — not a share of a common pool.

The borrower returns the same weight
Ten grams left, ten grams return. Not a gram more, not a gram less, whatever the price has done.

Two sides, one act
Mu3een means the one who helps. One person standing beside another, expecting nothing in return.
Questions
No. The lender receives back the same weight that was lent — no more. There is no return, no profit, no interest. Mu3een is a way to help, not a way to earn.
Because weight is constant. A gram today is a gram a year from now. Measuring the loan by weight means the lender recovers exactly what was lent without asking for any increase.
The borrower returns the same weight, so the cost in pounds is higher. If the price falls, it is lower. That is the risk the borrower carries in exchange for a loan that carries no interest.
Nothing in the normal course. Collection within twenty-four hours is free, sale on assignment is free, and repurchase at repayment is free. Storage applies only after the free window closes.
An agency fee when the loan is created, calculated by weight rather than by value, and storage if they delay collecting their metal past their own free window.
In an insured vault, in allocated boxes. Specific bars with specific serial numbers, physically separated — not a share in a common pool.
Yes. Collection is a basic right, and it is free within twenty-four hours of allocation.
Collection proceeds by assignment of the debt under Egyptian civil law. The details are set out in the agreement.
The structure is built on qard hasan and wakala: the loan is in weight, repayment is in the same weight, with no increase. Full documentation is available for review.
